hello i am havint this same proplem, chris was a suicide victim and be cause he was in resist of dla i was not able to recieve widows benenfit or the lump some a long with it.
My kp informed me that the highere amount is what they wish, but knowing it swas done through are dss, made no difference, so along with all else things i have a debt collecter on my back for the funeral. i applied for another grant and was told i was not a family in distress because i am not one i am singleton,, singleism seems the be rife across the lands xx take care god pless
